Miller
Tiresian Butch; Strophic Icefield. Video/Performance.
Violences are swallowed in my body’s indeterminacy. I want to ingest it all and turn magma from the pressure. I want to digest it in my mantle core. I want red opacity. I want blue clairvoyance. (These are the same). The indeterminacy of queerness thrusts itself back out at transparency- denies clarity at exposure. Illegibility becomes power, even as pain forces its way into vulnerability. If I become a body of ice, what can be imposed upon me? What can I impose?

In music, “strophic” is used to describe a piece with a central repetition or ritual (think: the application of ice to body as my strophic stanza).
From the same root, στρέφω, to twist or writhe, “strophium” was the Roman term for breast binding.
Three channel video installation, wall painting, performance, written text.
